Carolina Cobras Sign 2019 Offensive Lineman of the Year Derrick Zeigler

Two-Time All-NAL Lineman Joins CarolinaGREENSBORO, NC - The cupboards are starting to fill up in Carolina with All-NAL players as with the seventh signing for the 2022 season, the Cobras now have six players with All-NAL credentials as the Cobras are proud to announce the signing of two-time All-NAL and 2019 Offensive Lineman of the Year, Center Derrick Zeigler, formerly of the Jacksonville Sharks.
When asked about coming to Carolina, Zeigler said, “I chose Carolina because I love the fans, the city and I love the people who are around the organization.

Derrick Zeigler (6’ 5” 320, Northeast Mississippi Community College) joins the latest of the All-NAL players signed by General Manager/Head Coach Josh Resignalo for the 2022 season. Zeigler is now going into his fourth season in arena football and ready to add both another All-NAL award, but even more importantly a second NAL Championship to his resume as he was the 2019 Offensive Lineman of the Year for the 2019 NAL Champion Sharks. Entering 2022 with the new NAL Ironman rules, fear not, Zeigler also has experience on the defensive line as well. While in college he actually played DL and put up 31 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles in just eight games.

Derrick is an experienced lineman who will help anchor the offensive line and be a leader from day 1. We have some great players joining the Cobras and more to come!”
