Winston-Salem State Receiver Returns to Carolina
GREENSBORO, NC - The Carolina Cobras announce the signing of WR Donovan Rasberry.
Donovan Rasberry (5’8” 175 Winston Salem State) is finally coming home. A year after being the number two receiver for the Orlando Predators with 30 receptions for 288 yards and 6 touchdowns, as well as posting 8 tackles as a DB, this arena veteran is making his way to the Snake Pit for 2022. Rasberry was a four-year player at Winston Salem State where he played both WR and DB, and then moved onto the CIFL for a couple seasons before landing in the IFL, he then joined the Predators in the NAL for 2021. Naturally suited to play both ways, Rasberry is going to be a natural fit for the Ironman Rules for the 2022 NAL Season.
We asked Rasberry why he chose Carolina and he said, “I chose to play for Carolina for two reasons. Carolina is home and what other way to get a championship back at home.” Rasberry’s message for Cobra Nation is, “It’s time to bring another NAL Championship through Greensboro!”
Coach Resignalo had this to say “Rasberry is another local athlete that has played in multiple Indoor/Arena Leagues. He is a great athlete and a very hard worker. He trains with a friend of mine so I know his work ethic is ridiculous. The 2022 season is going to be a huge opportunity for players like Rasberry that can play both sides of the ball. Specifically being for Rasberry, since he gets a chance to play at home in front of family and friends. That alone is a motivator for him to be at his highest level. I am excited to see Rasberry have a career year!”
