GREENSBORO, NC –  The Carolina Cobras are proud to announce that local entrepreneur Darren S. Hunter, a native of Winston-Salem, has joined the Cobras Ownership group as a minority owner.

Hunter was born in Winston-Salem in 1992, making him not only the youngest minority owner in both the Carolina Cobras team history, but also in the National Arena League’s history. Hunter is a local business entrepreneur who has worked in the music industry professionally for over a decade; and has produced a number of albums since 2013. As an award winning professional in the music business industry he has been recognized by Spotify and other music streaming platforms for his work. Hunter has also been recognized for his philanthropy in North Carolina, California, and Illinois for his work towards anti-violence efforts, particularly in underprivileged communities with youth focused campaigns.

His musical work has been featured with major recording artists including Meek Millz, Bushwick Bill, Bone Crusher, as well as others, including Petey Pablo here in our own Coliseum. As a businessman, Hunter has made an impact in music and recently turned his entrepreneurial experience into his medical venture as the IP Owner of numerous strains of CBD. Hunter’s efforts to help communities nationwide and locally here in the triad area will help the team prepare for the postseason and beyond. This is his first venture into the professional sports industry as a member of the Carolina Cobras ownership group.

“I am very excited to welcome Hunter to the Cobras ownership group. By adding local ownership, it allows us to become closer to the community. With his ideas and accomplishments, it will allow the Cobras to add more focus to becoming an integral part of the Triad.”, says majority owner Rob Storm.

The Cobras have seen great success in 2022, compared to their recent 2021 season that was limited due to the global pandemic. Led by Head Coach and General Manager Josh Resignalo, the team has been conquering on the field and in the community as the 8-4 Cobras are currently in first place in the NAL, and were the first team to clinch an NAL playoff spot this season. Recently in the community the Carolina Cobras partnered with the Greensboro Fire Department for their annual First Responders & Military Appreciation Night, honoring everyone in the triad area that serves our country. The game was one of the teams largest attended games and featured collaborative events the Cobras staff & players co-hosted with GFD this year. This will be the team’s fourth consecutive season making the NAL playoffs and if they win it will be their third time playing a NAL Championship in four seasons.
