Former Orlando Predators Playmaker Comes to GreensboroGREENSBORO, NC - The Carolina Cobras announce the signing of former Orlando Predator and First Team All-NAL WR DJ Myers for the 2022 season.

DJ Myers (6’ 3” 205, Midwestern State (TX) Making a splash in his rookie season with the Orlando Predators, this 2021 First Team All-NAL WR is bringing his talent to Cobra Nation for the 2022 season.  After posting incredible numbers in 2021 of 67 receptions for 771 yards and 17 TDs.  Cobra fans may remember Myers when Orlando came to Greensboro and he put up 11 receptions for 142 years (his season high) and 2 TDs against our Cobras, but now he joins us. This signing, along with the return of Kendrick Ings now gives the Cobras two of the top three scorers from the 2021 NAL Season (Darius Prince (Albany) was first).  Myers also spent some time with the Philadelphia Soul (AFL) in 2019 and played both ways, including having one interception, to go along with 9 tackles. We asked Myers why he chose Carolina for the 2022 season, and he said, “I am excited to join the Snake Pit! I have a lot of respect for the Cobra’s organization, and after great conversations with Coach Res there was a great deal of mutual respect, value and understanding which helped me make this decision. I am excited for this organization and it’s dedication in becoming a dominant force. It was a no-brainer to join an organization where I felt my value was immensely increased due to the people I’ll be surrounded with, and I am both grateful and humble for the opportunity to grow with and represent Greensboro and all of Carolina!”

Myers message for Cobra Nation, “Cobra Nation, you’re getting an athlete, who you can be proud of both on and off the field.  My entire career I have been committed to professionalism with high character and work ethic. I will give you all my effort, plus more, and you won’t ever have to worry about me taking a shortcut, or not representing what the organization stands for.  I am coming to Carolina because we are like minded and share the same goals.  I am an underdog with a chip on my shoulder with more to prove, and I believe Cobra Nation embodies that same persona.  Thank you for having me!  I’ll be locked and loaded for 2022!  See you in camp!”

Coach Resignalo said, “Adding DJ to this organization is huge for many reasons. Most importantly for me, his character alone is what you look for to represent your organization on and off the field. That will also translate to him being a natural leader in the locker room. He is also a heck of an athlete and can contribute on both sides of the ball. Building this roster, we as a staff are looking to have the best players in all position groups from QB to Kicker. Day by day we are making that happen. This will be one of the most competitive camps coming up that I’ve been a part of.”
